COMMUNITY SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP - 2011
Awarded by State Representative Naomi D. Jakobsson
State Representataive Naomi Jakobsson has established a scholarship program. She will award one senior from each high school in the 103rd district a $500 monetary scholarship. The recipient must meet the following criteria and will be chosen by a community committee.
s Senior will attend an Illinois College or Trade school in the fall of 2011.
s Senior must reside in the 103rd District.
s Senior must demonstrate a history of community service beyond any school requirements, including a listing of their past or present community service projects.
s Senior must enclose a written essay describing their thoughts and opinions on the importance of commuinity service, how they intend to continue serving their commuity, and how such service prepares them for their college career.
s Senior must submit application and essay to my district office no later than April 15, 2011 at 4:00 p.m..
s Three references and their contact information, at least one from a teacher or counselor at Senior's school.
