If you have a Professional Educator License (PEL) that expires on 6/30/2019 you will soon be able to renew your license. Start by logging in to your ELIS account on the ISBE website. Before you can begin to renew, your Professional Development needs to be entered into the system, or your PD/Employment status must be updated to show that you do not owe any Professional Development. Information on how to Update Professional Development or Employment Status in ELIS can be found here.
Once you have Logged in to your ELIS account and have entered your Professional Development, or have updated your PD/Employment status, you will need to click on your Home Tab. On the right hand side of the page, you will find your Action Center Box. If you are eligible, Renewals, will be highlighted in bold and the number will show how many licenses are eligible for renewal. Click Renewals. The next page will show your Professional Educator License. Select Click Here to Renew License. You are required to complete the Criminal History Disclosure Statement by answering the questions on the page. After you have answered the questions, click Next. A drop down box will appear. This is where you must select the region in which you want to register your license. For Champaign-Ford Counties, you will need to select Region 09. You will then answer the required questions for the Professional Development Disclosure Statement. If you are an Exempt or Retired educator you must still select "Yes" for the first question. After answering both questions, select Next. On the next page, verify all of your contact information. If anything needs to be updated, scroll to the top of the page and use the provided link to update your contact information. Now you will select Make a Payment. You will be transferred to the State's contracted vendor for processing credit card transactions. Follow the directions for entering your personal information.
You can also refer to the following video. The payment vendor images in the video will be different from what you see in your account, as the state has a new contracted vendor for processing payments.
