For the majority of area schools, Monday's state report cards brought good news. For others, it showed there's work to do before moving up a rung in the Illinois State Board of Education's designation system.

Here's a quick look at how every area school was classified, plus definitions for all five groups — exemplary, commendable, targeted, comprehensive and intensive.

EXEMPLARY (11)

Defined by ISBE as: “Schools performing in the top 10 percent of schools statewide with no underperforming student groups.”
